About AOS

Our Mission

The Anchorage Orthopedic Society is a nonprofit educational organization dedicated to advancing the quality of orthopedic care in Alaska. We bring together orthopedic surgeons, physician assistants, nurses, and allied health professionals from across the state for education, collaboration, and community.

Our primary activity is the annual William J. Mills III All Alaska Orthopedic Conference — Alaska's premier CME event held each spring at The Hotel Alyeska in Girdwood. The conference has been a cornerstone of orthopedic education in Alaska for more than 30 years.

AOS membership is open to all orthopedic professionals in Alaska. Members receive discounted conference registration, priority early access to registration, and the opportunity to connect with colleagues and industry partners throughout the year.

About ASOS

Alaska State Orthopedic Society

The Alaska State Orthopedic Society (ASOS) is a separate and distinct organization from AOS. While AOS focuses on education and CME, ASOS is the statewide professional association for orthopedic surgeons in Alaska — connected to the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and focused on professional advocacy, policy, and statewide issues affecting orthopedic surgeons in Alaska.

ASOS Annual Business Meeting

The ASOS Annual Business Meeting takes place each year during the Saturday lunch session of the All Alaska Orthopedic Conference. All Alaska orthopedic surgeons are strongly encouraged to attend — an important opportunity to engage with statewide professional matters and connect with colleagues.

If you are an orthopedic surgeon practicing in Alaska and are not yet a member of ASOS, contact us to learn more about joining.

ASOS Website — Coming Soon

ASOS is currently developing its online presence. In the meantime direct all ASOS inquiries to AOS at admin@aosalaska.org and we will connect you with the right person.

Alaska Orthopedic Surgeons — Join Both

If you are an orthopedic surgeon practicing in Alaska, we encourage you to be a member of both organizations. AOS keeps you connected to the educational community. ASOS represents your professional interests at the state and national level through your AAOS connection.
